Speech Language Pathologist - Outpatient Physical Therapy

Location: Henry Ford Physical Rehabilitation - Auburn Hills

Schedule: 20 hours/week, Preferably Monday & Thursday 8am-6:30pm. This is an Outpatient position but does help with Saturday on call for the hospital approximately once every 5 weeks for 6 hours.

Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
• Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.
• Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
• Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program;
• Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination;
• Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
• Preferred experience in Vital Stim, cognitive communication disorders, dysphagia, CVA.

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

• The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA.
