Overview

Job Summary:

Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values. Performs ultrasound examinations of the peripheral vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the vascular system. Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart and vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the cardiovascular system.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Knowledgeable of and selects appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram procedures and vascular procedures.

Monitors sound waves for quality of ultrasonic patterns and documents on appropriate media to obtain a permanent record of examination.

Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results.

Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects equipment daily to ensure it is operating effectively. Reports malfunctions.

Collaborates effectively with other members of healthcare team concerning pertinent patient information and interventions needed.

Completes other duties or task as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Education: High school diploma or GED. CCI or ARDMS and RVT or RVS eligible. BLS certified.

Experience: Prefer 1-2 years experience
