    About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EMC/EMI System Engineer (SME) to lead the analysis, testing, and validation of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) for advanced satellite systems. In this role, you will provide technical leadership throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, mission-ready satellite platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in satellite or aerospace EMC/EMI engineering, system-level analysis, and technical leadership.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead system-level EMC/EMI analysis for satellite and aerospace systems, including mission requirements, spacecraft cavity geometry, and DC/RF coupling effects.
    • Perform conducted and radiated emissions and susceptibility (CE/CS, RE/RS) analyses to ensure compatibility with satellite and launch vehicle environments.
    • Conduct magnetic field, surface charging, and internal charging analyses.
    • Evaluate spacecraft panel shielding effectiveness and recommend design improvements.
    • Develop, review, and oversee EMC/EMI test plans for system verification and validation.
    • Collaborate with systems engineers, payload designers, and integration teams to ensure EMC/EMI compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership for EMC/EMI engineering activities.
    • Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
    • 7–10 years of experience in EMC/EMI analysis and testing for satellite or aerospace systems.
    • Strong experience with:
      • System-level EMC/EMI analysis
      • Conducted and radiated emissions/susceptibility (CE/CS, RE/RS)
      • Magnetic field, surface charging, and internal charging analysis
      • Spacecraft panel shielding effectiveness
      • EMC/EMI test plan development and validation
    • Proficiency with EMC/EMI simulation and analysis tools such as CST and FEKO.
    • Knowledge of satellite mission requirements, including frequency bands, payloads, and antenna systems.
    • Familiarity with aerospace EMC standards, including:
      • MIL-STD-461
      • MIL-STD-464
      • ECSS-E-ST-20-07C
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and mentor engineering teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience supporting commercial satellite programs and regulatory compliance.
    • Knowledge of spacecraft environmental effects, including surface and internal charging.
    • Experience leading EMC/EMI test plan development and system validation activities.
    • Proven experience providing technical leadership on satellite or aerospace engineering programs.
