    Job description

    The Opportunity:

    Join a large, nationally recognized academic medical center as a Faculty GI Pathologist within a highly collaborative, subspecialized department. This role offers the opportunity to practice high-level GI pathology in a high-volume setting, including complex liver, pancreas, and gastrointestinal cases, while engaging in teaching, research, and multidisciplinary care. With access to advanced diagnostic technologies and strong institutional support, this position is ideal for a pathologist seeking academic growth and clinical excellence.

    About the Practice:

    The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is a physician-led academic group with over 50 faculty members and a fully subspecialized practice model. The division manages a high volume of surgical and cytology cases annually and works closely with clinicians and surgeons in a multidisciplinary care environment.

    The department supports robust residency and fellowship programs across multiple subspecialties, including GI/liver pathology, and provides access to a comprehensive translational research core with advanced molecular diagnostics and next-generation sequencing capabilities.

    Position Highlights:

    • Subspecialty-focused GI pathology sign-out within a high-volume academic center
    • Exposure to complex cases including liver, pancreas, and transplant pathology
    • Opportunities for teaching residents and fellows in a well-established training program
    • Participation in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards
    • Access to advanced diagnostic technologies and research infrastructure
    • Faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level

    Candidate Qualifications

    • MD or DO with board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
    • Fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Pathology
    • Eligible for medical licensure in the applicable state
    • Strong diagnostic skills and interest in academic pathology
    • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
