Shift: 4 on 4 off (6am-6-pm), shift A
Salary: £16.75

Hilton Foods are looking for a QA Laboratory Technician to coordinate and complete the site laboratory, environmental monitoring, product testing, shelf-life and organoleptic assessment activities.

The role

ensures samples are correctly collected, prepared, submitted, tracked and reviewed; testing schedules remain current; failures are escalated; and records are complete, traceable and audit-ready.

As a QA Laboratory Technician of the responsibilities will be to:
- Coordinate environmental, hand, allergen, species, air-plate, water and ice sampling programmes.
- Prepare and submit product samples for microbiological, nutritional, chemistry, shelf-life and other specified testing.
- Maintain testing schedules, trackers, certificates, photographs and supporting communications.
- Organise shelf-life trials, organoleptic calendars and taste-panel activities.
- Review results, arrange retests or re-swabs, and support non-conformance and escalation processes.
- Liaise with QA, Production, Hygiene, Engineering, Planning, Logistics, NPD, Technical and external laboratories.
- Control laboratory consumables, sample storage, equipment condition, housekeeping and shift handovers.
- Provide accurate evidence for audits, investigations, customer requirements and continuous improvement
To succeed as a QA Laboratory Technician, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:
- Have the ability to liaise directly with all levels internally and externally on a daily basis
- Have knowledge of bespoke computer/labelling systems and be able to trouble-shoot accordingly
- Be able to multitask and prioritise own workload
- Ensure effective lines of communication are in place within the Technical Department.
