MCC Senior Engineer - IRIS2

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for MCC Senior Engineer. The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities

• Perform systems-engineering activities for the concept, design, development and technical procurement of Mission Control Centre systems.
• Define and manage Mission Control Centre requirements, interfaces and operational data flows, including TM/TC processing and routing.
• Specify hardware and software items and their interfaces with Ground Stations, flight-dynamics systems, networks, IT infrastructure, data centres and other Ground Segment entities.
• Support architectural trade-offs and maintain the Mission Control Centre technical baseline.
• Prepare technical inputs to RFPs and follow suppliers from design and development through integration, validation and final acceptance.
• Define implementation, integration and verification plans and support tests at subsystem, Mission Control Centre and higher levels.
• Support the preparation and validation of operational databases, displays, procedures and other operational products.
• Support Ground Segment integration, operational-readiness activities and handover to operations.
• During operations, act as a technical point of contact for anomalies and support investigation and resolution.

Minimum requirements

• Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Mission Control Centre or satellite-control systems engineering.
• Experience with mission-control software, TM/TC chains, operational databases and Ground Segment interfaces.
• Knowledge of SCOS-2000, EGS-CC or comparable mission-control environments is considered an asset.
• Experience in software-based systems, networks and IT infrastructure.
• Experience in system design, procurement follow-up, integration, verification and operational-readiness activities.
• Knowledge of satellite communications and spacecraft operations.
• Experience coordinating suppliers and technology projects.
• Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
