Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.
To be part of this project, we are looking for Software & M&C Senior Engineer. The responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Analyse and trade off critical Ground Segment requirements and flow them down to Monitoring and Control (M&C) and Supervision systems.
- Define M&C and Supervision requirements for Ground Segment infrastructure and services.
- Define the high-level software architecture for the monitoring and control of infrastructure, and for the supervision and reporting of services.
- Define implementation and test plans for the proposed software subsystems.
- Perform the technical follow-up of subcontractor activities related to design, requirements compliance, development and validation of the subsystems.
- Support the higher-level integration of subcontractor software subsystems into the overall Ground Segment.
- During the operational phase, act as the technical point of contact for anomalies and support their technical resolution.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering for telecommunications or complex ground infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Linux-based systems.
- Experience with networking and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud platforms.
- Experience in software architecture, implementation planning, testing and system integration.
- Knowledge of satellite communications.
- Experience in managing or technically coordinating technology projects and subcontractors.
- Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
