Job Title: Breed Barn Lead
Job Description: Implement and oversee breeding and management programs to allow our sows to produce the maximum number of farrows with the highest quality genetic traits.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the gestation process (breeding process) to ensure the sows become pregnant.
- Assist with diagnosis and treatment of bred sows to produce the maximum number of healthy farrows.
- Assist with updating all production records.
- Responsible that all biosecurity protocols are in place and followed.
- Responsible for analysis of all production metrics.
- Participate in onboarding and lead new hire training.
- Administer production performance evaluations.
- Encourage employee development by identifying opportunities for growth within sow farms and company.
- Implement new ideas, and changes to obtain desired results.
- Update and maintain accurate farm records and reports.
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience leading 2 or more employees.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interest in working with animals with a desire to learn and self-develop.
- Detailed oriented and meticulous
- Ability to lead others in high demand situations.
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for 9+ hrs./day.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat and kneel.
- Must have reliable transportation.
