    Job description

    • Pay Range: $27.36-$42.28/hourly
    • Remote or Onsite: Onsite
    • Job Schedule: Full Time

    This position is for multiple sites and specialties across Hoag Medical Group. Locations range from Tustin through San Clemente. Specialties include: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, etc. All positions will be Monday-Friday day shift hours.     Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Under the direction of a registered nurse or physician and under assigned administrative supervision, provides care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Follows patient identification procedures, provides appropriate information for all patient procedures, and collects and handles specimens. Assesses and implements prescribed interventions for the patient.

    Implements and documents discharge plan for each patient. Recognizes that ethical/legal/medical dilemmas exist in the nursing practice and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical nursing decisions. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Complete and accurate charting of patient records. Complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures. Collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care. Responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • One or more years of experience in a healthcare care facility (Specialty Clinics can hire a new grad LVN with no experience)
    • Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel preferred
    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
    • Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
    • Primary Care and Urgent Care: Completion of educational courses (within 6 months of hire): New Hire LVN course – Primary Care or Urgent Care

    License Required:

    • Current LVN License to practice in the State of California

    Certifications Required:

    • Current BLS Certification

    Certifications Preferred:

    • Phlebotomy Certification
