Holtec International, a turnkey supplier of technologies for the nuclear and fossil power industries, is seeking to add an experienced mechanical/civil/structural analyst to its Engineering Mechanics Group. The senior analyst would be called upon to analyze metallic, reinforced concrete and soil-subgrade supported structures.
Typical analyses include:
- Static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses using ANSYS
- Modeling and analyses of structural impacts and target response using LS-DYNA
- Simulation of the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in water
- Static and dynamic analyses of large reinforce concrete structures
- Soil-structure analyses with freestanding and/or anchored structures
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must possess a BS in mechanical/civil/structural engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience. MS will count for 2 years of experience and Ph.D. will count for 5 years of experience (experience from MS and Ph.D. cannot be combined)
- Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI and AISC
- Must possess excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanics
- Must possess excellent technical writing and communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS
- Academic or industrial experience in the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS or LS-DYNA or GT STRUDL
- Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities
