Structural Analyst

Holtec International, a turnkey supplier of technologies for the nuclear and fossil power industries, is seeking to add an entry-level mechanical/civil/structural analyst to its Engineering Mechanics Group. The analyst would be called upon to analyze metallic, reinforced concrete and soil-subgrade supported structures.

Typical analyses include:

• Static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses using ANSYS
• Modeling and analyses of structural impacts and target response using LS-DYNA
• Simulation of the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in water
• Static and dynamic analyses of large reinforce concrete structures
• Soil-structure analyses with freestanding and/or anchored structures

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant must possess a BSE in mechanical/civil/structural engineering with a GPA > 3.0
• Prior industrial experience is not mandatory; however, the applicant must have excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanics
• Should possess excellent technical writing skills

DESIRED SKILLS

• Academic or industrial experience in the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS or LS-DYNA or GT STRUDL
• Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI and AISC
• Excellent communication skills
