SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

Human Resources Manager (26270049)       

The School aims to complete registration as a post-secondary college within one or two years, committed to enhancing the internationalisation and diversification of higher education, and developing distinctive and professional programmes that address the manpower needs of society. Once this strategic development is solidified, it is planned that the role will evolve with a long-term prospect.

The appointee will be assigned to the Human Resources Section of the School to perform duties including recruitment and appointment, benefits administration, performance assessment, preparation of staff statistical reports, arrangement of staff training and development, supervision of Officers and clerical staff in daily operation of work. The appointee will be required to support the implementation and rollout of the new HCMS across departments. The appointee will also assist in policy and operation review, system development, and committee work.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related disciplines with at least seven years of relevant work experience;
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment legislation and HR best practices;
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management,  and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Competency in computing applications and data extraction, processing and analysis are essential; and
• Preference will be given to those with experience in HRMS platforms and data migration tools.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term one contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
