Marketing Manager

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is Hong Kong’s statutory body for promoting Hong Kong’s trade with the world. Its Ho Chi Minh City Office is inviting applications for the following position:

Marketing Manager

(This is an on-site position based at our Ho Chi Minh City Office. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Vietnam without visa sponsorship.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement market development initiatives to strengthen HKTDC’s presence and identify new business opportunities across Indochina, with particular emphasis on Chinese business communities

• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, chambers of commerce, business associations, Chinese business networks, agents, multipliers and other key partners in Indochina to support HKTDC promotional events in Hong Kong and the region

• Drive the recruitment of exhibitors, buyers and VIPs from Indochina for HKTDC exhibitions, conferences and other events through targeted prospecting, relationship building and follow-up

• Develop programmes and provide support for high-level business delegations from the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong visiting Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos

• Plan, coordinate and support promotional activities, outreach seminars, market visits and local events across Indochina to promote Hong Kong and HKTDC, as assigned by the Director of Indochina

• Provide Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland companies with information on investment, trade and business opportunities in the region through online and in-person channels, including updates on relevant policies, investment incentives, taxation and labour issues in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, upon request

• Provide operational and administrative support, including preparing presentations and annual reports for local authorities, assisting with recruitment, and providing translation and interpretation services as required

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Indochina

Job Requirements:

• University degree in business, marketing, communications or a related discipline

• Minimum of eight years’ relevant experience in sales and marketing, business development, event management, trade promotion or a related field

• Strong sales and business development capabilities, with proven experience in prospecting, exhibitor or client acquisition, relationship management and converting market opportunities into measurable results

• Experience in market expansion and partnership development, together with established connections within Chinese business communities in Vietnam or the wider Indochina region, would be an advantage

• Fluency in written and spoken Vietnamese and English; proficiency in Chinese is an advantage

• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Well organised, self-motivated and attentive to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Willing to travel within Vietnam and overseas

Remuneration and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract with prospects for renewal upon expiry. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package will be offered to the right candidate.
