    Job Title: Hope’s Closet Special Events Coordinator – Central (Seasonal)

    Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Thrift Store

    Reports to: Hope’s Closet Central Coordinator

    Status: Seasonal, part-time (non-exempt)

    Supervisory Role: Event serve staff

    Objective

    To support coordinating and executing Hope’s Closet® Thrift’s special events while remaining aligned with the vision of The Church of Eleven22®—to be a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Be a minister of the gospel  
    • Support with executing Be-YOU-tiful Boutique events—including planning, processing inventory and acting as the main point of contact during events and set up/tear down
    • Cast vision and give direction
    • Build and maintain serve staff teams through the organization and execution of serve staff recruiting plans
    • Champion excellent communication internally amongst store teams as well as externally to event attendees, serve staff, customers and donors
    • Collect, analyze and utilize event and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and inform ongoing updates to event playbook
    • Capture meeting minutes as needed and provide follow-up support to Central Coordinator with action steps
    • Execute serve staff appreciation thank-you cards/gifts
    • Support with executing a successful Toy Drive in collaboration with Foster Care Minister and Eleven22 ministries and partners
    • Support store needs and execution of new events

    Education and Experience

    • Experience in event planning and execution of special events preferred, but not required
    • Experience working in ministry preferred, but not required
    • High school diploma preferred 

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Central Coordinator. Days and hours may change weekly based on event and store needs. Weekends are required.   

    The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage all Hope's Closet staff to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure the Hope’s Closet team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

    Work Environment

    This role operates in a professional retail setting, including the sales floor and warehouse/stockroom areas, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The position involves regular use of cash registers, rolling racks, retail fixtures, furniture carts, ladders and dollies. 

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods; bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials; navigate uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
