Material Handler

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect for damages.
• Compare packing slips with purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
• Document and report any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Store materials in designated locations using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labeling of materials.
• Implement and adhere to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
• Use of scanners and computers to communicate production order status
• Transport materials to production areas or other designated locations as needed.
• Pick and pack orders for shipment or internal distribution.
• Load and unload trucks and other vehicles.
• Provide feedback for process improvement opportunities that would enhance safety, productivity, or efficiency.
• Maintain and improve area cleanliness to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Ability to flex into other work areas as needed
• Must be willing to work overtime when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Prioritization and organization skills
• Ability to use hand tools
• Forklift certification
• DOT Physical
