STORE PORTER

Job Summary: The store porter is responsible for maintaining inventory controls as set by the storekeeper. It is imperative to note that the responsibility for this high value of inventory is just as much for the storeroom attendant as it is for the storekeeper.

Responsibilities:

• Storing items that are confirmed as received immediately
• Checking all items coming in and going out
• Ensuring that all items coming in have an invoice bearing the receiver's signature, items going out must have an approved pick list signed received and issued
• Packing away items using the (FIFO) method
• Packing all items on the shelves
• Recording temperature for all fridges first thing in the morning, at mid-day, and before work concludes for the day, report any discrepancy to the storekeeper or Engineering
• Labelling and packing all shelves for easy identification and counting process
• Cleaning the entire storeroom on a daily basis
• Adhering to the requirements for food handling as dictated by the Ministry of Health
• Spot-checking inventory daily to ensure variance is minimised

Qualifications:

• Certification in Business Management, Inventory and Supply Management or any other related discipline
• Two (2) years' experience in the a similar capacity
