Job Development Specialist, abilIT Program

The Job Development Specialist is responsible for developing employment opportunities and career pathways for program participants through employer engagement, business development, workforce partnerships, placement services, and retention support. This position serves as the primary liaison between participants and employers, ensuring successful employment outcomes that align with participant strengths, interests, and career goals.

The Job Development Specialist actively cultivates employer relationships, identifies workforce opportunities, and promotes disability-inclusive hiring practices. Through strategic outreach and ongoing support, this position assists participants in obtaining and maintaining competitive integrated employment while helping employers meet workforce needs.

· Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Workforce Development, Human Services, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field.

· Minimum three (3) years of experience in job development, business development, recruiting, staffing, workforce development, employment services, sales, or employer relations.

· Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

· Experience developing employer partnerships and employment opportunities preferred.

· Experience providing employment placement and retention services preferred.
