The Buyer will place purchase orders for new and existing production materials. May be assigned to purchase non-production items. They will identify and develop qualified suppliers which meet company standards.
You will make an impact in this role by:
- Professionally place purchase orders to meet program and productions schedules, while maintaining good supplier relationships.
- Control the cost of purchase materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.
- Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and develop a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the Company.
- Professionally resolve problems (both internally and externally), in a fair and ethical manner.
- Must have good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts.
- Travel will be required to various supplier locations.
- Maintain and support company objectives for cost out, inventory turns, and supplier on-time delivery.
- Provide vendor performance data for Quarterly Scorecard.
