Position Summary
The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. In addition to accurately processing retail merchandise transactions, maintaining the balance of the cash drawer. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by O’Hare Joint Venture 2 location based on business needs.
Essential Functions
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Place an “X” next to the statement that best describes the usual lifting activity to perform the job.
Sedentary
Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying small items (files, manuals, binders).
Light
Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
x
Medium
Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Heavy
Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighting up to 50 pounds.
Very Heavy
Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
Qualifications
• Previous food service experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification
• Previous cash handling experience preferred
• Basic math and counting skills required
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
