Objective

Main Objective of the Position

Deliver stock and customer orders in a timely manner between sites and provide stakeholders with excellent service. Ensure Hynds products are moved carefully in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Deliveries

· Driving in a manner that is in line with the road code and Hynds' safety expectations and NZTA rules and regulations.

· Ensure all products customer orders are delivered to site in full and safely on time as per expectations

· Following delivery instructions closely and delivering orders safely and on time

· Obtaining PODs from every order delivered

· Load and unload trucks

· Ensuring all deliveries do not leave with the relevant/accurate paperwork.

· Ensuring all loads are secure

· Ensure road user charges are paid

· Build and maintain relationships with transport and despatch teams

· Efficient utilisation of organisations fleet.

Vehicle

· Ensure the vehicle operated has a current COF and registration

· Complete the daily check list ensuring that defects and damage is correctly identified and reported

· Vehicle is cleaned inside and out on a weekly basis or as required

· Ensure road user charges are current and at sufficient weight to complete the allotted tasks

· Ensure vehicle is maintained in line with the service plan and is clean/tidy and presentable at all times

· Ensure all equipment is secured and available for use on the truck

· Check safety equipment remains certified and in specification

· Operate crane and lifting equipment in a safe and responsible manner

· Report any vehicle damage immediately to your supervisor or manager.

Yard & Stock Control

· Participate in stocktake and lead up to stocktake.

· Correctly identify and code product.

· Clean and tidy yard and housekeeping maintained.

· Load and unload all trucks in accordance with the company Health

· Ensuring all deliveries do not leave without the relevant/accurate paperwork.

· Grease and inspect the plant to identify and communicate problem areas.

· Assists in keeping facility secure. Ensures all equipment is stored at end of day.

· Notifies supervisor or management whenever there is a discrepancy between a customer’s sales invoice and the actual exchange of products.

· Communicates positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up.

Administration and Support

· Complete daily driver’s cartage log.

· Complete NZTA driver’s logbook daily.

· Complete and send time sheet weekly ensuring that it matches your logbook times to your manager weekly.

· Report and complete Incident Reports on all incidents within 24 hours to Manager

· Complete any Near Miss and submit to your supervisor or Manager

· Attend Monthly Health & Safety and team meetings

· Assisting with general yard work and inventory control when required

· Ensure interactions with customers meet Hynds service standards.

· Maintain relevant licences to operate vehicles.

· To comply with safe working practices as per job safety environmental assessments (JSEA’s), and safety operating procedures.

· Alert employees to specific hazards. Give particular attention to new employees.

· Ensure you communicate near miss, incidents and hazards through our online system Vault or directly to your Line Manager

· To maintain high standards to ensure quality work is carried out correctly and to the highest standard.

· To control your time at commencement, during and completion of the shift.

· Assist in the communication process e.g. at pre-starts and Toolbox Meetings.

· Ensuring pre-start requirements are strictly adhered to.

Training

· Complete on-going upskilling and training as required.

· Assist in training new employees.

Other Duties

· Duties may be varied from time to time consistent with the employee’s training and skills and such varied duties are to be performed to standards that will be specified as required.

Key Attributes

Technical

· Technically Competent: minimum 1-year experience driving a class 5 truck and trailer.

· Full NZ driver licence class 5 required with experience.

· Unit Standard 16617 Truck Loader Crane

· Handles Pressure: Ability to coordinate deliveries with the ability to work well under pressure and adapt easily to new situations.

· Accurate with Detail: To ensure customer orders are correct, and site performance standards are met. Attention to detail with paperwork and administration
