Objective
Main Objective of the Position To support the Factory site goal of producing high quality product, on time, at the lowest possible cost, by maximising plant availability while minimising expense.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Maintenance Carry out routine/preventive and reactive maintenance on all machinal aspects of the plant including inspections and the completion of relevant paperwork in a safe and efficient manner
Attend machine breakdowns on site and effect repairs to ensure minimum down time
Trouble shoot, and fault find any defects on plant and tools and carry out repairs as necessary
Maintain the workshop in a clean and tidy environment
Follow all safety and environmental rules are followed including compliance with PPE requirements, method statements and risk assessments
Carry out risk assessments before commencing work on plant and equipment.
Ensure spares and oils are booked to the correct job
Spares stock control and ordering when required (software supported)
Minimise maintenance expenditure Reduce direct and consequential damages resulting from plant failure
Improve the percentage ratio between planned and unplanned maintenance
Minimise waste
Seek out best practice options in all maintenance areas
Maintain best practice to reduce downtime
Preventive maintenance planning and implementation
Health & Safety Ensure all equipment checks are completed
Ensure assigned Audits are completed in full and on time
Assist in investigations and recommending corrective actions
Ensure all accident, near miss and observations are reported in a timely manner
Maintain a clean, safe work environment with a strong focus on housekeeping practices
Ensure JSA’s and work permits are issued and/or acquired when required
Ensure adherence to the company H & S policy
Other Duties Involvement and participation in team meetings
Undertake any other assigned tasks deemed necessary by management to benefit business outcomes

Key Attributes
Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in machine maintenance
Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
Technical Trade qualification in Mechanical/engineering/fitter turning (or similar) is beneficial but not required
Proven mechanical or electrical aptitude
