Certification Program Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a collaborative program developer who enjoys creating high-quality assessments, working with subject matter experts, facilitating workshops, and managing content development projects. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in education, curriculum design, learning and development, assessment, certification, credentialing, or related fields. Prior certification industry experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided on certification and psychometric best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop, edit, revise, and validate, new exam items.
• Manage assessment content within specialized software systems (training provided).
• Use data and established quality standards to review and improve assessment content over time.
• Maintain and update the support materials for each certification, including bodies of knowledge and exam blueprints.
• Manage the activities of the exam development boards.
• Facilitate workshops with subject matter experts to create and improve assessment content.
• Create training materials for item writers.
• Manage and assist the Certification Director in supporting the growth of new certification programs.
• Help to remediate appeals and complaints regarding exam content.
• Assist with annual internal audit to support ANAB accreditation.
• Travel to IAPP events may be required.
• Promote IAPP culture and core values.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience developing content, assessments, curriculum, training materials, or educational programs
• Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or stakeholder meetings
• Strong project management and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience with certification, credentialing, testing, learning and development, curriculum design, or educational assessment
• Familiarity with data analysis, survey results, or program evaluation
• Experience with learning technology or assessment platforms
