The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company in Chile,
ensuring compliance with Chilean accounting standards, regulatory and tax regulations, and
statutory reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly financials and reporting to Finance Team in the UAE
- Oversee the general ledger, including reconciliation of accounts and compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare regulatory returns and other regulatory requirements for submission to relevant authorities
- Perform intercompany and intra-group reconciliations and ensure timely booking of intercompany invoices
- Monitor budgets and forecasts
- Manage banking relationships and monitor cash flow ensuring sufficient funds for the company’s operations.
- Process supplier invoices ensuring timely payments as per AP process in coordination with the AP Team in the UAE.
- Process payroll for the month ensuring timely payment while also managing payroll-related deductions, contributions and compliance with relevant laws in coordination with the Payroll Accountant in the UAE.
- Ensure compliance with Chilean tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes
- Undertake ad-hoc assignment as requested by management
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Chilean tax regulations
- Experience working with regulated brokers in CFD/Forex space
- Experience working with regulated entities under Chile Financial Market Commission
- Hands-on experience of accounting systems such as Xero and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
