    Job Summary

    iCare Health Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Independently Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LISAC, or LMFT) to join our multidisciplinary Integrated Outpatient Behavioral Health team.

    The clinician will provide high-quality, person-centered behavioral health and/or substance use disorder services to adults and/or adolescents, based on the clinician's education, training, licensure, competency, and assigned program.

    Primary responsibilities may include behavioral health assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, treatment planning, treatment plan reviews, clinical documentation, discharge planning, coordination of care, medical-necessity review, and clinical consultation with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

    The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Experience with outpatient treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), SUD services, crisis services, or integrated behavioral healthcare is strongly preferred.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments within professional scope and competency.
    • Provide individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy as appropriate to licensure, training, and assigned program.
    • Develop individualized, measurable, person-centered treatment plans.
    • Complete treatment plan reviews and updates according to clinical need and applicable requirements.
    • Evaluate patient progress and recommend appropriate modifications to treatment.
    • Document medical necessity and clinical rationale for services provided.
    • Complete progress notes and other clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team meetings and case consultations.
    • Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, medical providers, nursing, case management, BHTs, peer support staff, and external providers.
    • Identify changes in clinical presentation, risk, functioning, and level-of-care needs and initiate appropriate clinical response.
    • Participate in discharge and transition planning.
    • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning within the clinician's professional scope and organizational protocols.
    • Maintain professional boundaries and patient confidentiality.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable clinical, ethical, organizational, payer, and documentation requirements.
    • Participate in quality-management, utilization-review, chart-review, and performance-improvement activities.
    • Assist with clinical consultation and oversight of behavioral health support staff when appropriately assigned and permitted by credential, competency, and organizational policy.
    • Maintain required continuing education, professional license, credentialing documentation, and training.

    IOP & Substance Use Disorder Responsibilities

    Clinicians assigned to iCare's IOP or SUD programs may also:

    • Provide individual and group SUD treatment within professional scope and competency.
    • Address co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
    • Participate in admission, continued-stay, level-of-care, and discharge recommendations.
    • Develop and monitor individualized SUD treatment objectives.
    • Provide relapse-prevention and recovery-focused interventions.
    • Address triggers, coping skills, motivation, recovery supports, and barriers to treatment.
    • Participate in coordination with psychiatric, medical, peer-support, case-management, housing, and community resources.
    • Maintain documentation supporting medical necessity and continued treatment.
    • Participate in clinical reviews and authorization-related documentation when required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Addiction Counseling, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline.
    • Current, active, unrestricted Arizona independent behavioral health license as one of the following:
      • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
      • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
      • Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC)
      • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Ability to become credentialed with applicable health plans/payers.
    • Demonstrated experience providing behavioral health services within professional scope.
    • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
    • Knowledge of behavioral health treatment planning and medical necessity.
    • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

    • Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
    • Substance Use Disorder treatment
    • Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
    • Outpatient behavioral health
    • Crisis intervention
    • Group psychotherapy
    • Trauma-informed care
    • Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
    • Clinical supervision or staff development
    • Utilization review and medical-necessity documentation
    • AHCCCS/Medicaid behavioral health services
    • Electronic health records and timely clinical documentation

    LPC or LCSW candidates with substantial SUD/co-occurring-disorder experience are strongly encouraged to apply. LISAC candidates with extensive IOP/SUD treatment experience are also strongly encouraged to apply.

    Performance Expectations

    The successful clinician will be expected to maintain:

    • Timely and complete clinical documentation.
    • Appropriate caseload/productivity expectations established by the organization.
    • Consistent attendance and availability for scheduled patients.
    • Compliance with treatment-plan and documentation timelines.
    • Appropriate coordination with other members of the treatment team.
    • Documentation supporting the clinical need for services provided.
    • Participation in clinical meetings, chart reviews, quality improvement, and required training.
    • Active professional licensure and payer credentialing requirements.

    Position Expectations

    This position is intended for an independently licensed clinician who can provide direct billable clinical services while also contributing to the overall quality of iCare's clinical programs.

    The position is not intended solely as an administrative or supervisory role. The clinician should be comfortable maintaining an active patient caseload, conducting individual and/or group sessions, completing assessments and treatment planning, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary clinical team.
