Job Role
To support the Asst. F&B Manager in planning and executing meetings, conferences, weddings, social events and other functions, ensuring excellent service, smooth operations, guest satisfaction and effective cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Banquet Operations
- Assist in planning and executing all banquet events.
- Ensure function rooms are prepared according to the event requirements.
- Supervise setup, service and breakdown of events.
- Ensure correct seating arrangements, table setups and service standards.
- Coordinate with Kitchen, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping and other departments.
- Review Banquet Event Orders and communicate requirements to the team.
- Ensure timely food and beverage service.
Guest Experience
- Welcome event organisers and guests.
- Understand event requirements and special requests.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
- Monitor service throughout the event.
- Obtain feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
Team Management
- Allocate duties and responsibilities to banquet colleagues.
- Conduct pre-event briefings.
- Monitor grooming, discipline and service standards.
- Coach and guide team members.
- Support training and development of colleagues.
Cost & Inventory
- Control wastage and ensure appropriate use of food, beverage and operating supplies.
- Monitor banquet equipment and inventory.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment.
- Support achievement of departmental financial targets.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Follow fire and life safety procedures.
- Ensure safe setup and movement of banquet equipment.
- Follow IHG standards, hotel SOPs and statutory requirements.
What We Need From You
Education
- Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of F&B experience.
- Previous banquet/event experience is preferred.
- Supervisory experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is desirable.
Technical Knowledge
- Banquet setup and event operations.
- BEO understanding and event coordination.
- Food and beverage service.
- Basic cost and inventory control.
- Food safety and hygiene standards.
