Saxon has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Claims Handler. The role is open to suitably qualified Caymanians.
Hours of Work: Full-time
Location: Harbour Walk, Grand Cayman
Responsibilities
- Supporting team by taking new claims/managing existing claims where required and leading by example in doing so
- Correspond with all interested parties to compile information and manage claims efficiently. This includes attorneys, external adjusters, garages and other service providers.
- Acting as technical referral point for the claims team relating to queries over all aspects of the claims process including coverage, indemnity, claims investigations, etc
- Supervision of Masterfile of open claims including quality checks and providing constructive feedback to meet KPIs
- Authorizing reserves & claim payments within agreed limits
- Identify process and product improvement opportunities and actively raise these with the Claims Manager or look to make changes where appropriate
- Deputizing in Claims Manager absence on various responsibilities.
- Managing first line complaints in line with agreed protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Should possess or be studying towards an insurance qualification to be completed within 6 months
- 2+ years experience in the Insurance industry
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong team player and the ability to lead by example
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy
- Strong initiative and self-direction, being a goal-oriented person
- A self-confident, extroverted style which can engage, and positively impact individuals and groups is essential
- Ability to learn new products and adapt to the ever-changing market
- Robust organizational skills
- Strong IT and math skills
- Adapts well to change and is multi-tasking
- Passionate about the latest technology solutions and learning new programs
- Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends
Computer Skills:
- Advanced knowledge and extensive experience of Microsoft Office Software.
- Willingness to take on additional system-related training as it relates to this role.
Successful candidates will need to pass the Insurance Foundations Level test or equivalent
qualification during their probationary period, education costs will be paid for by Saxon.
Compensation
- USD $55-70,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications
- Participation in generous company bonus scheme (post probation completion)
