    Job description

    This role is based in our New York City or Santa Monica office.

    We are seeking an exceptional Head of Content, Live & Digital to serve as a strategic thought leader who transforms industry insights into compelling content across live events and digital platforms. This senior individual contributor role combines editorial excellence with commercial acumen to drive thought leadership, year-round audience engagement, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be a visionary content creator who understands how to build and nurture communities, cultivate senior leadership relationships, and translate market intelligence into content that resonates and converts.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Content Leadership

    • Develop and execute comprehensive content strategies that position the brand(s) as the definitive industry thought leader(s)
    • Transform complex industry insights, trends, and data into compelling narratives across multiple formats and platforms
    • Create content frameworks that drive year-round engagement beyond live events, building sustained audience relationships
    • Identify emerging topics, industry shifts, and content opportunities that align with business objectives and audience needs
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape editorial vision and ensure content aligns with commercial goals

    Content Creation & Editorial Excellence

    • Produce high-quality, authoritative content including articles, whitepapers, research reports, video scripts, podcasts, and event programming
    • Develop thought leadership pieces that establish the brand(s) as a trusted voice
    • Craft compelling event content including keynote themes, session descriptions, speaker briefs, and promotional materials
    • Ensure editorial consistency, quality standards, and brand voice across all content touchpoints
    • Balance editorial integrity with commercial objectives to create content that educates, engages, and converts

    Audience Growth & Engagement

    • Create personalized content experiences that deepen engagement with key segments and personas
    • Leverage data and analytics to optimize content performance, refine strategies, and demonstrate ROI

    Relationship Building & Industry Influence

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior industry leaders, influencers, and key opinion leaders
    • Support the Partnerships function through Identifying  and recruiting high-profile speakers, contributors, and content partners for events and digital platforms
    • Conduct executive interviews, advisory board sessions, and research initiatives to gather insights and build credibility
    • Represent the brand at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand influence and relationships
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to industry stakeholders, positioning the brand as an essential partner

    Commercial Impact & Revenue Growth

    • Align content strategies with revenue objectives including event attendance, sponsorship sales, and digital subscriptions
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to create content that supports customer acquisition and retention
    • Develop sponsored content programs and thought leadership opportunities that deliver value to partners and audiences
    • Track and report on content performance metrics including audience growth, engagement rates, and revenue attribution
    • Identify new content-driven revenue opportunities including premium content offerings, research products, and advisory services

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Events, and Partnership teams to ensure integrated content strategies
    • Work closely with design, video, and digital teams to bring content to life across multiple formats
    • Provide content expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders on messaging, positioning, and storytelling
    • Share industry insights and audience intelligence across the organization to inform business decisions
    • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, or thought leadership roles within B2B environments
    • Proven track record of creating high-impact content that drives audience growth, engagement, and revenue
    • Demonstrated success in building relationships with C-level executives and industry influencers
    • Strong understanding of content marketing, SEO, digital platforms, and audience development strategies
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible content
    • Commercial acumen with experience aligning content strategies with business objectives and revenue goals
    • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools to measure content performance and optimize strategies
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion
    • Deep industry knowledge or ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in target markets
    • Lead with empathy, understanding diverse perspectives and motivations while maintaining high standards
    • Navigate complex interpersonal situations with sensitivity, honesty, and professionalism
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40%)

    The salary range for this role is $150,000- $170,000 based on experience.
