Inlet Coastal Resort is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Medication Technician to join our resident care team.
The Med Tech is responsible for administering medications accurately and on schedule while supporting residents’ overall safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a senior-living or memory-care environment.
Qualifications
- Current medication technician certification or required South Carolina medication-administration credentials
- 3 years experience or more required
- Previous assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or senior-care experience required
- Experience using QuickMAR is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and medication-documentation skills
- Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in a resident’s condition
- Dependable transportation and a record of punctual, consistent attendance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience caring for individuals living with dementia is preferred
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Responsibilities
- Administer medications according to physician orders and community policies
- Accurately document medication administration in QuickMAR
- Maintain medication schedules and ensure medications are given on time
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in condition
- Promptly report medication concerns, refusals, errors, or changes in condition to the nurse or appropriate supervisor
- Review medication records for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with medication inventory, storage, ordering, and disposal
- Follow infection-control practices and medication-management procedures
- Provide resident care and assistance with daily needs as required
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, caregivers, and other members of the care team
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment
Position and Schedule
Position: Full Time; 7am- 7pm or 7pm-7am
Weekends' and holidays' availability are required based on the schedule.
Consistent attendance, punctuality, and careful medication administration are essential requirements of this position.
