POSITION SUMMARY: Provides services to participants within facilities that are approved to received ID/DD PASRR Specialized Services. Assist the participant with skills acquisition, maintenance of functional status, and implementation and assistance of specified goals and objectives as determined through the Person-Centered Plan. Services shall be provided in accordance with applicable Kentucky Statues and Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Some areas may require valid Class C State of Kentucky driver’s license and have current mandatory insurance. Shall meet all regulatory required employment processes (background checks, TB assessment, drug screen, etc.). Experience working with adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities preferred.
SKILL SETS: Adequate communication skills, ability to process verbal and written instructions, ability to use a computer efficiently, dependable, interact effectively with the public, staff, and participants/their family members, able to adapt to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, strong sense of commitment. Knowledge of MS- Office preferred.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for appraising the appearance of the participant and the environment. Frequent talking and hearing when communicating with participants, families, guardians, and staff. May be some lifting when assisting with ambulation. May be some stooping, kneeling and bending involved when assisting. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Possible exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous materials. Services provided will occur at facilities or in the community.
