This role provides paralegal-level corporate and litigation support for FME's US legal matters from the GBS India Legal Center of Excellence in Bangalore, handling matter administration, entity/compliance administration, contract execution support and litigation support tasks under the direction of US-based attorneys.

    Key Responsibilities

    Matter & Case Administration

    • Post documents to the legal tracker and other matter-management systems
    • Open new cases/matters and set up corresponding legal tracker records
    • Support onboarding of outside counsel
    • Support vendor setup for settlement payments

    Corporate Entity & Compliance Support

    • Liaise with registered agents on entity filings
    • Assist in responding to know-your-customer (KYC) inquiries from banks and financial institutions
    • Maintain the annual US attorney registration/licensing verification list
    • Procure apostilles for cross-border document legalization
    • Maintain the legal tracker
    • Liaise with the Philippines-based accounts payable team on legal billing matters
    • Perform general administrative assistant responsibilities in support of the legal team

    Contract Execution Support

    • Create redlines and comparisons of contracts to support attorney review
    • Route contracts for internal approvals and signatures, and obtain signatures for contract execution
    • Upload documents to virtual data rooms ("clean rooms") to support due diligence and transaction processes

    Litigation Support

    • Coordinate settlement payments
    • Monitor the damages tracking spreadsheet and track monetary recoveries
    • Set up, maintain and release legal holds; update legal referrals internally
    • Support responses to subpoenas involving FME employees (where FME is not a party), under attorney direction

    Level-Specific Scope

    • Performs the tasks above independently with limited supervision from supervising attorneys and the Paralegal Manager; may begin to review and guide administrative/entry-level colleagues on routine instances of this work
    • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex coordination, drafting and administrative matters, often requiring judgment about process and prioritization; escalates matters requiring legal interpretation, litigation strategy, or transaction terms to supervising attorneys
    • Contributions begin to influence team-level process improvements (e.g. legal tracker usage, workflow standardization) but do not set functional strategy
    • Represents FME in routine coordination with external parties (registered agents, banks on KYC matters, document-legalization services) within a clearly defined, attorney-authorized scope
    • Modifies existing administrative and coordination processes to improve efficiency; does not set new firm-wide policy independently

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required (law degree not required); paralegal certificate or equivalent qualification preferred
    • Bachelor's degree with approximately 3-6 years of relevant experience, including experience in corporate and/or litigation paralegal support, ideally supporting US legal matters from an LPO, GCC/GBS, or in-house legal environment
    • Familiarity with US corporate entity administration (registered agents, KYC/banking compliance, attorney licensing tracking) and litigation support processes (legal holds, subpoena response, settlement tracking) is a plus
    • Experience with legal matter-management/tracker systems, contract redlining/comparison tools, and virtual data room platforms preferred
    • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent administrative and coordination workstreams
    • Excellent written and spoken English required
    • Discretion and ability to handle confidential corporate and litigation-related information
