Cleaner (Part-time)

We are currently looking for a Cleaner to join us on a part-time basis. Our cleaner shall be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises, ensuring a safe and well-kept environment. This includes overseeing the sanitation and general maintenance of the departments and clinic facilities to provide a healthy and safe space for students, staff, and visitors.

Duties & responsibilities

• Sweeping and mopping floors across classrooms, offices, hallways, bathrooms and common areas.
• Dusting and cleaning furniture, windows, shelves and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising restrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of appropriately.
• Cleaning windows, walls and other surfaces to maintain a tidy environment.
• Following all relevant health and safety and cleaning procedures.
• Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Reporting any hazards, maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Monitoring cleaning supplies and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
• Managing and segregating waste according to applicable procedures.
• Working closely with staff to ensure cleaning activities do not disrupt daily operations.
• Supporting with the preparation of spaces for meetings, activities and events.
• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with GDPR policies and procedures.
• Following Inspire’s Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct and organisational policies.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a positive and respectful working environment.

Core skills & qualities

The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following:

• Proven experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.
