Plasma Table Operator

The Plasma Table Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce precision parts used in fabricated assemblies. This role works closely with shop leadership, welders, fitters, and engineering to ensure parts are cut accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Controlled Automation plasma tables, strong shop fundamentals, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting tables to cut plate and sheet metal to specification Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, nesting layouts, and work instructions Load raw materials and ensure proper alignment, leveling, and calibration Perform basic programming or adjustments to nesting and cutting paths as needed Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency Inspect completed parts to verify dimensions, tolerances, and edge quality Operate overhead crane equipment to safely move materials and finished parts Perform routine maintenance on plasma equipment, including torch and consumables Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S and safety standards Coordinate with welders, fitters, and supervisors to meet production schedules Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and improve throughput
