    Job description

    Job Details:

    Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Life Safety Systems (LSS) Engineer to join our team in a critical role responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Life Safety Systems infrastructure. In this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our facility by managing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of safety systems while serving as a key technical resource across multiple engineering disciplines.

    Why This Role Matters

Life Safety Systems are the backbone of a safe and compliant facility. As an LSS Engineer, your expertise directly contributes to protecting lives, safeguarding critical assets, and ensuring regulatory compliance. If you are a technically driven professional with a passion for safety, systems reliability, and continuous improvement, we encourage you to apply and become a cornerstone of our safety engineering team.

    What You Will Do

As an LSS Engineer, you will take ownership of the full lifecycle management of our Life Safety Systems, including:

    • Managing system capacity, reliability, and uptime to ensure uninterrupted protection of personnel, equipment, and facilities

    • Providing both sustaining and construction support across a broad range of critical safety systems, including:

      • Fire & Evacuation Systems

      • Early Warning Smoke Detection

      • Liquid Leak Detection

      • Tool Annunciation Systems (TAS)

      • Hazardous Production Material (HPM) Alarm & Detection Systems

    • Programming and troubleshooting PLCs for HPM and TAS systems, including comprehensive I/O point management

    • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation required for the safe operation of all LSS systems

    • Implementing, tracking, and managing continuous improvement projects to enhance system performance and safety standards

    • Serving as a safety role model at all times, upholding and promoting best practices across the organization

    • Providing off-shift work and on-call coverage as operational needs require

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction while also contributing effectively as part of a larger, cross-functional team

    • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey both strategic and tactical concepts to a diverse audience — from engineering peers and operational technicians to senior management.
