    Intelligent Digital Technologies (IDT) is an IT consulting and software development company in the field of financial services. We focus on business automatization and digitization processes of banking, payments, asset & wealth management, risk & compliance. Profound knowledge of signal processing, image recognition, and artificial intelligence is the key to help improve enterprise performance and simplify administrative processes in the financial cycles of our clients.

    As we have already built a team of 110+ talented people, we are now seeking for a System Analyst (Mid/Senior) who will be part of the team.

    Role Purpose

    The System Analyst is responsible for analyzing business needs, existing system behavior, and technical implementation and translating them into clear, consistent, and implementable system requirements and solutions.

    The role acts as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that proposed changes are analyzed end-to-end and aligned with existing systems, architecture, integrations, data models, and business processes.

    The System Analyst is expected to understand not only what the system should do, but also how the system currently works and how proposed changes will affect it.

    Key Responsibilities

    Requirements & System Analysis

    • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and system requirements.
    • Clarify business needs, objectives, constraints, and expected outcomes.
    • Identify gaps, contradictions, dependencies, edge cases, and missing requirements.
    • Analyze AS-IS system behavior before defining TO-BE solutions.
    • Perform impact analysis for proposed changes across systems, services, processes, and data.
    • Define functional and non-functional requirements within the analyst’s scope.

    Existing System Investigation & Reverse Engineering

    • Investigate existing functionality using:
      • source code;
      • databases and SQL;
      • APIs;
      • logs;
      • technical and functional documentation.
    • Read and understand application code to identify implemented business logic and system behavior.
    • Perform reverse engineering when documentation is missing, incomplete, or outdated.
    • Reconstruct business rules and process logic from technical implementation.
    • Identify hidden dependencies and implicit business rules.

    Process Analysis & BPMN

    • Analyze end-to-end business and system processes.
    • Create and maintain AS-IS and TO-BE BPMN models.
    • Model main, alternative, exception, and failure scenarios.
    • Model cross-system and cross-service processes.
    • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, dependencies, and optimization opportunities.
    • Ensure consistency between BPMN models, requirements, and actual system behavior.

    API & Integration Analysis

    • Analyze and define system integrations.
    • Define REST API requirements, including:
      • endpoints and operations;
      • request/response structures;
      • validation rules;
      • data mappings;
      • error handling;
      • authorization requirements.
    • Analyze synchronous and asynchronous interactions.
    • Analyze event-driven integrations and message flows.
    • Define system responsibilities and interaction boundaries.
    • Identify integration dependencies and failure scenarios.

    Data & Database Analysis

    • Analyze relational data models, tables, relationships, and data flows.
    • Use SQL to investigate system behavior and validate assumptions.
    • Analyze stored procedures and database-level business logic where applicable.
    • Define data mappings and transformations.
    • Analyze data consistency and dependencies between systems.
    • Identify impacts of changes on existing data and data structures.

    Solution Design & Architecture

    • Participate in solution design together with developers and architects.
    • Analyze proposed solutions from functional and system perspectives.
    • Understand and consider service boundaries and system responsibilities.
    • Consider architectural constraints and existing integration patterns.
    • Identify technical dependencies and risks.
    • Contribute to decisions related to monolithic, SOA, microservice, and event-driven environments where applicable.

    Documentation

    Prepare and maintain analytical documentation as required by the project, including:

    • System Requirements;
    • Functional Requirements;
    • User Stories;
    • Acceptance Criteria;
    • Use Cases;
    • BPMN diagrams;
    • API specifications;
    • data mappings;
    • integration specifications;
    • functional/system descriptions;
    • impact analysis;
    • other supporting analytical documentation.

    Documentation must be sufficiently clear and complete for development, QA, architecture, and other involved teams.

    Development, Testing & Release Support

    • Support development teams during implementation.
    • Clarify requirements and system behavior during development.
    • Support QA in defining and understanding expected behavior and scenarios.
    • Participate in defect analysis and identify root causes from a functional/system perspective.
    • Analyze change requests arising during implementation.
    • Verify that implemented behavior corresponds to approved requirements and solution design.
    • Participate in release preparation and analyze release dependencies and impacts.
    • Support production issue analysis when System Analyst involvement is required.

    Collaboration & Coordination

    • Work closely with Business/Product, Development, QA, Architecture, DevOps/SRE, and other System Analysts.
    • Facilitate analytical and solution-design discussions.
    • Coordinate analysis when multiple teams or systems are involved.
    • Ensure that dependencies between teams and systems are identified and communicated.
    • Escalate unresolved analytical risks, dependencies, and contradictions.
    • Maintain alignment between business expectations and technical implementation.

    Core Competencies

    System Analysis

    The System Analyst must be able to:

    • structure complex problems;
    • analyze requirements beyond their initial formulation;
    • understand end-to-end system behavior;
    • identify dependencies and impacts;
    • identify gaps and contradictions;
    • define clear and implementable system requirements;
    • distinguish business requirements from implementation details.

    Technical Analysis

    The System Analyst must be able to investigate systems through multiple sources:

    Code + Database + API + Logs + Documentation

    The analyst is not required to perform software development but must have sufficient technical knowledge to read and understand existing implementation and identify business/system logic.

    SQL & Databases

    Required competency includes:

    • SQL querying;
    • relational database concepts;
    • tables and relationships;
    • JOINs;
    • data mappings;
    • understanding stored procedures;
    • tracing data through system processes.

    APIs & Integrations

    Required competency includes:

    • REST principles;
    • request/response structures;
    • HTTP methods and status codes;
    • validation and error handling;
    • synchronous/asynchronous communication;
    • data mapping;
    • authentication/authorization concepts;
    • system integration patterns.

    BPMN

    The analyst must be able to:

    • create AS-IS and TO-BE models;
    • model end-to-end processes;
    • model alternative and exception flows;
    • model cross-system interactions;
    • use appropriate BPMN events, gateways, activities, and message flows;
    • understand executable BPMN concepts where applicable.

    Architecture

    The analyst should understand:

    • monolithic architecture;
    • SOA;
    • microservices;
    • event-driven architecture;
    • service boundaries;
    • dependencies between services;
    • basic integration and data-flow patterns.

    Expected Deliverables

    Depending on the assignment, expected outputs may include:

    • System/Functional Requirements;
    • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria;
    • BPMN AS-IS / TO-BE diagrams;
    • Use Cases;
    • API requirements/specifications;
    • integration descriptions;
    • data mappings;
    • system interaction diagrams;
    • impact analysis;
    • reverse-engineering results;
    • functional/system documentation;
    • analysis of defects and production issues.

    Deliverables must be accurate, consistent, traceable, understandable, and sufficiently detailed for implementation and testing.

    Level Expectations

    Middle System Analyst

    Independently handles moderately complex analytical tasks end-to-end.
    Can investigate existing implementations, perform reverse engineering, analyze APIs and databases, create detailed BPMN models, identify dependencies and impacts and support implementation through release.

    Senior System Analyst

    Independently owns complex cross-system analysis. Can reconstruct complex business logic, perform deep impact analysis, design system interactions and APIs, contribute to architecture and solution decisions, coordinate analysis across teams, review analytical outputs and mentor other analysts.

    Responsibility & Ownership

    The System Analyst owns the analytical quality of assigned changes throughout the delivery lifecycle:

    Requirement → Analysis → Solution Design → Development → Testing → Release

    Ownership includes ensuring that:

    • requirements are sufficiently analyzed;
    • affected systems and dependencies are identified;
    • edge cases and failure scenarios are considered;
    • documentation is complete and consistent;
    • technical teams have sufficient information for implementation;
    • QA has sufficient information to validate expected behavior;
    • analytical issues discovered during implementation are resolved;
    • changes remain aligned with the agreed business objective and system design.
