The Site Engineer is responsible for the precise execution of construction activities based on shop drawings and method statements. Through meticulous supervision, record-keeping, and coordination with subcontractors, they ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Studies and understands shop drawings and method statements etc. Executes the work at site accordingly.
- Supervises all site activities including preparing the site, housekeeping and control of wastage through the Site Foreman and in accordance with the instructions from the Construction Manager.
- Keeps records and information up to date in compliance with project requirements and reports any discrepancies or site issues to the Construction Manager. Follows up with the solutions.
- Calculate the required materials and place the order(s) as necessary. Keeps records of materials and gives information to the Project Engineer about the requirements. Conduct material testing (e.g. concrete), if required.
- Understands and meets Quality Control & EHS requirements for construction. Co-ordinates with subcontractors and QC for adherence and compliance to standards.
- Raises the RFEI for work inspections through QA/QC. Inspects the work as per approved drawings.
- Follows the labour allocation, attendance and the productivity of workers to control the labour costs. Ensures the safety and welfare of the workforce.
- Completes the works and makes ready for handover.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years in construction within UAE / GCC.
- Proven experience in working on large projects for a reputed organization.
- Ability to lead and manage employees, sub-contractor labour etc
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Meticulous and detail-oriented working style
DESIRABLE: Safety and Quality–related certifications are preferred.
