International’s Huntsville Powertrain Plant is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support and strengthen how environmental requirements are executed in daily operations. This role is not just about permits and reporting—you will help ensure environmental compliance is clearly understood, consistently applied, and built into how work is done on the floor.
You will play a key role in driving compliance and sustainability improvements that protect our environment and our customers, ensuring our processes support both regulatory expectations and the long-term quality and reliability of our products.You’ll work closely with Supervisors, Team Leaders, and support teams to turn environmental requirements into standard work, reinforce expectations, and help the plant stay audit-ready at all times.
This role plays a critical part in managing our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and driving sustainability improvements across the plant, with a strong focus on energy, water, and waste. You will ensure our environmental systems are not only compliant, but actively improving how we operate and reducing overall impact.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements (air, water, waste)
Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical actions for the floor
Strong attention to detail with a focus on consistent execution and follow-through
Experience supporting or participating in audits and regulatory inspections
Ability to identify gaps early and act with urgency to resolve them
Experience improving processes to strengthen compliance and sustainability performance
Understanding of hazardous waste handling, storage, and shipment requirements
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
Ability to build trust with operations while reinforcing standards
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Basic data tracking and documentation skills to support compliance and audit readiness
Demonstrated ability to connect environmental compliance to operational impact and customer protection
