Director, Cardiac Market Development, Asia

Primary Function of Position

The Director, Cardiac Market Development, Asia is an individual contributor role that supports the Cardiac Sales Directors in China, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan by translating global cardiac procedure and product strategies into market-ready plans, programs, and tools. This role also serves as the Asia-based implementation partner to the Vice President, Global Cardiac, helping bring key global programs, training processes, and global KOL development initiatives to life across Markets with different customer needs, operating models, and development stages.

Working closely with the Cardiac Sales Directors in each Market and the VP, Global Cardiac, this role localizes global programs and content, supports training and KOL development execution, tracks performance metrics, and improves quality and matrix efficiency. Commercial priorities and Market-level decisions remain with the Cardiac Sales Directors and Asia Market General Managers; this role is accountable for enabling and accelerating their execution.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Regional Procedure and Product Lifecycle Strategy

• Support the Cardiac Sales Directors and VP, Global Cardiac in developing and executing cardiac procedure strategies using Market insights, customer needs, competitive dynamics, clinical pathways, and commercial priorities.
• Translate global portfolio, product launch, lifecycle, and procedure strategies into focused roadmaps, priorities, and activation plans.
• Coordinate with sales, clinical, capital, key accounts, customer training, marketing, market access, regulatory, and enabling functions to support readiness, sequencing, and execution.
• Identify adoption barriers, unmet needs, and growth opportunities and convert them into recommendations and action plans for the Cardiac Sales Directors and VP, Global Cardiac.
• Provide structured feedback to global teams on Asia Market requirements, customer needs, evidence gaps, positioning, and future portfolio opportunities.

Market Development and Marketing Localization

• Localize cardiac marketing programs, value propositions, messaging, content, media, and field tools while maintaining brand, clinical, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Develop integrated market development plans spanning segmentation, account activation, peer education, society engagement, digital channels, and stakeholder awareness.
• Enable teams to build sustainable programs with surgeons, care teams, hospital leaders, key opinion leaders, training centers, and reference sites.
• Ensure content and media plans are insight-led, audience-specific, reusable, and aligned to the customer journey and sales execution needs.
• Capture, codify, and scale effective practices and share Asia Market learnings with the VP, Global Cardiac, and other Global partners.

Program Support, Metrics, and Operating Cadence

• Support the operating rhythm for cardiac Market development and marketing, including annual planning, quarterly business reviews, initiative tracking, and performance reporting.
• Define leading and lagging indicators for program effectiveness, adoption progress, launch readiness, content utilization, and return on investment.
• Create dashboards and decision forums that help leaders assess progress, resolve barriers, redirect low-value work, and scale successful programs.
• Support initiative portfolio tracking by clarifying owners, milestones, dependencies, risks, and expected outcomes.
• Support budget planning, tracking, and forecasting for cardiac Market development and marketing programs, in partnership with the Cardiac Sales Directors and VP, Global Cardiac.

Quality, Process, and Matrix Effectiveness

• Design scalable processes, standards, and ways of working that increase execution quality, speed, consistency, and accountability.
• Clarify interfaces and handoffs across Global, Regional, and local Market teams to reduce duplication, close gaps, and improve matrix efficiency.
• Establish quality controls for plans, programs, content, metrics, and launch deliverables, so work is compliant, decision-ready, and fit for use.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and remove barriers that limit field execution or customer impact.
• Contribute to a culture of disciplined experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement using data and field feedback.

Partnership and Collaboration

• Serve as a close working partner to the Cardiac Sales Directors in each Market on execution of growth priorities, programs, and training, with Market commercial decisions remaining with the Sales Directors and Asia Market General Managers.
• Partner with Market and Regional teams across China, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan to drive alignment through influence and collaboration rather than direct authority.
• Build regional learning loops that allow Market teams to adapt programs locally while scaling effective practices across Asia.
• Act as the Asia-based point of contact for the VP, Global Cardiac on implementation of key global programs, training curricula, and global KOL development initiatives.
• Communicate progress, insights, and performance clearly to the Cardiac Sales Directors, VP, Global Cardiac, and Asia leadership.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
