Job Description: Aircraft Mechanic
Position Summary
The Aircraft Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems and components. This role works under moderate supervision and requires demonstrated proficiency in aircraft mechanical systems, safety compliance, and maintenance documentation. The position is also responsible for the inspection, repair, and overall maintenance of aircraft to ensure they meet strict safety and airworthiness standards, as well as minor upkeep and cleaning of aircraft storage facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Aircraft Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs on airframe and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system malfunctions
- Execute preventive maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer manuals, and company procedures
- Support aircraft return-to-service activities
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all FAA regulations, company maintenance manuals, and safety procedures
- Report maintenance discrepancies, hazards, and compliance issues
- Maintain proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Documentation & Systems
- Accurately complete maintenance records, logbooks, and inspection documentation
- Log maintenance actions, equipment modifications, and repairs in designated maintenance systems
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews
Operational Support
- Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians to meet maintenance schedules
- Assist with parts tracking, inventory control, and equipment availability
- Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events when required
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (technical or aviation certificates preferred)
- Experience: 1–3 years of related maintenance experience (aviation or complex mechanical systems)
- Licensing: FAA A&P License preferred or required (based on company/regulatory needs)
- Level: Intermediate (II)
- Supervision: Works under moderate supervision
