Office Manager

Midland Transport is currently seeking an Office Manager in Concord, ON. The Office Manager will oversee the administrative needs of the Terminal ensuring all other departments are recording activity accurately and in a timely manner. Keeping pertinent metrics of progress vs plan for the terminal.

Responsibilities

• Working reports daily and weekly to provide the info required by H/O to monitor the Terminals progress also working other reports, and oversees payroll function for Terminal.
• Responsible for  the development, coaching and mentoring of direct reports, and for demonstrating excellent leadership characteristics and the Irving Values
• Responsible for the achievement of employee engagement within the office admin group.
• Responsible for employee safety and fostering a safe work environment that adheres to the company’s policies and procedures
• In charge of developing a competent understanding of duties of each direct report to monitor KPIs and provide training to new hires.
• Ensure cross training is done for fellow co-workers to fill in and assist when necessary
• Ensure all areas in the administration provided by the terminal are covered.
• Making sure vacation and illness in certain positions are covered

Qualifications

• Trade certification or college diploma
• 7-10 years experience in related field
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Kronos - AS400
• Excellent time management and communication skills - written and oral
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems
• Ability to prioritize work and pivot when necessary
• Experience with payroll
