    Job description

    Role Purpose:
    To lead the quantitative and financial modelling of various investment structures across the Group, supporting strategic decision-making and investment analysis. The Senior Investment Officer will serve as a trusted business partner, directly influencing key investment decisions by building and maintaining robust financial models, appraising new opportunities, and delivering analytical insights across all M&A, Capital Raising, and Corporate Finance activities.

    • Dotted Line Reporting: Chief Investment Officer
    • Business Unit: Investment Department
    • Internal Relations: Investment Managers and Analysts, Business Development Units, Strategy and Finance Teams across Subsidiaries
    • External Relations: Investors, Financial Institutions, Regulatory Bodies, External Advisors and Consultants

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Modelling & Valuation

    • Develop and maintain advanced financial models (3-statement models, DCF, LBO, WACC, ROIC, etc.)
    • Perform valuation modelling for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
    • Build model templates and dashboards to assist fast-paced decision-making.

    Capital Raising & Investment Structuring

    • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support capital raising efforts.
    • Review and contribute to the preparation of pitch books, investment memoranda, and RFPs.
    • Work with internal teams and advisors on deal structuring and financial due diligence.

    Strategic Business Analysis

    • Research, analyze and synthesize financial and operational data across subsidiaries.
    • Evaluate shareholder value measures and financial KPIs.
    • Contribute to business feasibility assessments and new venture proposals.

    Reporting & Investment Proposals

    • Prepare financial reports and executive presentations for internal and external use.
    • Develop business plans and investment proposals for presentation to management and investors.

    Due Diligence & Risk Evaluation

    • Assist in the appraisal of investment risks and return metrics.
    • Participate in due diligence exercises for acquisitions and partnerships.
    • Conduct macroeconomic and industry research to support project assumptions.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial insights.
    • Engage with banks, consultants, regulators, and external analysts to validate assumptions.

    Job Specification

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related quantitative field.
    • Level 2 or above in ACCA, ICA, or CFA is required.
    • FMVA, BIDA, or other modelling certifications preferred.
    • A Master’s degree in Finance or a related discipline is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, or Private Equity.
    • Experience in capital raising, M&A, and financial due diligence essential.
    • Strong background in business feasibility, investment analysis, and pitch preparation.
    • Advanced knowledge of valuation methodologies and scenario analysis.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Expertise in financial modelling, scenario planning, and investment appraisals.
    • Working knowledge of programming languages (Python, VBA) is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical, forecasting and data visualization skills.
    • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Ability to present complex data in visually compelling formats.
    • Knowledge of Hyperion/Essbase or similar systems is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
    • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of data integrity and quality.
