Electromechanical Technologist

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced electromechanical technologist to join our team and support photovoltaic (PV) power systems research. We are looking for candidates with experience in mechanical assembly, common hand tools, and electrical and electronics work. The work environment requires the ability to lift and manually position large, bulky test devices onto characterization tools, either individually or as part of a team.

The position also requires periodic work outdoors in all seasons for most of the workday. Familiarity with electrical lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), forklift operations, and use of machine shop equipment is desired. Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

• On any given day, you may be called on to: Be responsible for operating indoor PV characterization tools.
• Support outdoor PV system installation, instrumentation, and maintenance.
• Work in both laboratory and outdoor settings.
• Monitor experiments, including making and recording observations in support of the development and testing of PV systems.
• Support documentation efforts, including preparing information for scientific and engineering reports and publications.
• Due to the nature of the work, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite.
