    Job description

    We're looking for an MEP Planner to join our Southern Region team.

    Location:

    Basingstoke or Southampton office and sites across the Southern Region. Hours: 42.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. At Kier, our purpose is to sustainably deliver infrastructure which is vital to the UK. As an MEP Planner, you'll play a key role in developing, maintaining, and monitoring MEP programmes across a range of exciting projects. Working within our planning team, you'll support the successful delivery of MEP works on live projects and tenders across the defence, pharmaceutical, commercial, custodial, and education sectors.

    This is an excellent opportunity to combine your technical planning expertise with strong communication skills, supporting both preconstruction and delivery stages whilst managing multiple concurrent projects. What will you be responsible for? As an MEP Planner, you'll be working within the planning team, supporting them in delivering complex MEP programmes across diverse sectors. Your day-to-day will include: Developing and maintaining detailed MEP programmes using Asta PowerProject, aligned with construction master programmes Monitoring progress on site, updating programmes, and generating lookahead schedules and progress reports Presenting programme updates and planning insights to project managers and senior leadership Collaborating with design managers, commercial teams, and construction planners to resolve sequencing and logistics issues Supporting risk identification and recovery planning through programme analysis What are we looking for?

    This role of MEP Planner is great for you if:

    You have

    • intermediate or advanced experience using Elecosoft Asta PowerProject and can create fully logic-linked MEP programmes You bring 4-6 years' on-site experience as an MEP planner, or looking to transition from being a Site Manager or Engineer.
    • You have 3-5 years' experience in tender and preconstruction planning You possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges Rewards and benefits We're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
