MAJOR DUTIES:
- Schedule and manage employee’s work hours, vacation requests, time-off requests, and total store labor hours to maximize labor efficiency.
- Store Managers will be required to work weekends and up to 45 hours per week as designated by business needs.
- Conduct and oversee the training of all new employees as well as the retraining of existing employees as needed.
- Ensure all store operations are in full compliance with MED regulations and company policies & procedures.
- Motivate and work together with employees to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Administer periodic employee performance evaluations.
- Inform employees and supervisory staff of new updates and general developments in the company while keeping them updated of the latest changes in MED regulations.
- Confirm time clock accuracy, hours, tips and store payroll.
- Recruit and evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with GM of Operations and District Managers.
- Maintain a continual awareness of inventory levels and a thorough understanding of the replenishment process.
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service focused, and compliant with established company policies and procedures.
- Monitor the activities of all employees to maximize efficiency, minimize shrink, maximize margin and sales opportunities, and respond to customer needs in a timely fashion.
- Identify through daily walk-throughs deficiencies in Store, identifying items to be fixed and/or maintained.
- Ensure the store is properly secured at the end of the business day.
- Properly account for all sales proceeds, as well as operating funds.
- Make sure all necessary supplies (bags, containers, etc.) are fully stocked at all times.
- Properly manage all petty cash purchases.
- Set the benchmark for professional, ethical and fiscal responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
- Must be able to acquire and retain an KEY MED Badge.
- Solid organizational and communication skills; the Store Manager leads the store and as such must be fully competent is all aspects of store operations.
- Driven to develop and nurture relationships with vendors, contractors, and store support personnel.
- Responsible for developing and driving sales promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office (or equivalent) programs.
- Maintain proficiency with MeTRC and POS support systems.
- Must lead from the front, encouraging subordinates by example.
- Be recognized as the Subject Matter Expert regarding product knowledge.
- Deal with problems as opportunities, and address the same as soon as possible so said problems don’t metastasize.
- Analyze store financials to identify opportunities and drive results.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS degree required or an additional 2 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree or
- 4+ years of management experience including at least 2 years retail Store Management experience
- 2 years of supervisory and staff training experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must be able to obtain an Employee badge through the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division
