ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
Support JTC (Luxembourg) S.A. from Mauritius by carrying out delegated investor due diligence, ongoing monitoring and investor registration tasks under the approved intra-group outsourcing arrangement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Help ensure accurate and timely onboarding, review and maintenance of investor records in JTCL’s core transfer agency systems in line with Luxembourg AML/CFT, counter-proliferation financing, sanctions, fund documentation, service levels, and internal policies.
- Operate strictly within delegated authority, recognising that JTCL retains full responsibility, oversight and decision-making for investor acceptance, risk ratings, enhanced due diligence, exceptions, restrictions, sanctions and suspicious activity matters.
- Lead the Mauritius team, allocate workloads, monitor output and deliver agreed quality and service standards.
- Manage investor onboarding, periodic reviews and remediation, including KYC gaps, identity verification, ownership and control checks, source of funds/wealth reviews and screening.
- Prepare complete and auditable case files, documenting findings clearly and escalating high-risk, sanctions, PEP, adverse media, falsification and critical KYC issues to Luxembourg.
- Refer all investor acceptance, risk, EDD, restriction, suspicious activity and regulatory decisions to authorised JTCL personnel.
- Screen investors and connected parties at onboarding, during periodic reviews and on trigger events.
- Assess ownership, control, geography, regulatory status, investment rationale and other relevant risk factors, and escalate unresolved alerts or material profile changes.
- Create and maintain accurate investor and related-party static data, including tax, regulatory, banking, AML, risk and restriction information.
- Validate records against approved supporting evidence using maker-checker controls and resolve data quality issues promptly.
- Ensure no records are finalised and no restrictions are applied without sufficient evidence, required clearance and documented JTCL approval.
- Perform first-line quality checks and maintain work queues, action logs, ageing reports and status tracking.
- Produce management information and report on KPIs, KRIs, service levels, quality, backlogs, incidents and overdue actions.
- Escalate control failures and ensure approvals, exceptions and decisions remain fully traceable to Luxembourg.
- Maintain records that support audits, oversight reviews, incidents, remediation and business continuity requirements.
- Protect confidential data, use only approved systems and access rights, and comply with JTCL instructions, security and data protection requirements.
- Support JTCL’s oversight, audit, intervention and take-back rights, including access for JTCL, auditors and authorities where required.
- Comply with outsourcing governance requirements and do not sub-outsource, change processes, alter data location or amend access arrangements without JTCL approval.
- Coach and manage team members, support performance and segregation of duties, and suggest process improvements for JTCL review and approval.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- At least five years of relevant experience in investor AML/KYC, transfer agency, fund administration or a similar regulated financial services environment, including supervisory or quality control responsibilities.
- Hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification, ideally in law, compliance, finance, business administration or a related field.
- An AML/KYC qualification such as ACAMS or ICA is desirable.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of Luxembourg AML/CFT principles, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening, beneficial ownership, source of funds/wealth and risk-based due diligence.
- Have practical experience in investor onboarding, periodic and trigger-event reviews, remediation and registration within a transfer agency or similar operational system.
- Understand fund structures and a broad range of investor types, including individuals, corporates, partnerships, trusts, foundations, regulated institutions, pension arrangements and investment funds.
- Be experienced in applying maker-checker controls, maintaining auditable records and producing accurate management information.
- Understand outsourced operating models, service levels, oversight, audit rights, incident escalation, confidentiality, data protection, information security, business continuity and exit planning.
- Demonstrate strong people management, coaching, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Have excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce concise, evidence-based case summaries and escalation reports.
- Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn specialist AML and transfer agency systems.
- Show strong judgement, integrity, attention to detail and the confidence to stop and escalate work where evidence, requirements or approvals are unclear.
- Be able to manage high volumes and competing deadlines without compromising quality, confidentiality or control standards.
