This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team of the National Probation Learning Delivery Team. We are a large, friendly and fast paced team delivering learning to operations.
As a manager in the team, you will be an important driver in ensuring we meet learning delivery demands, support the progress of the organisation’s new entrants towards their qualifications and provide a continuous professional development offer. This role sits in the Probation Learning Delivery Team, part of Probation Learning Services, within the Transforming Delivery Directorate. The purpose of this role is to provide end-to-end management of the scheduling and co-ordination of the team. The post-holder will report to the Head of National Probation Learning Delivery.

The LS Delivery Manager will work closely with learner facilitators/coaches, SMEs and the Probation Learning Design Faculty to gather scheduling requirements and plan learning resource delivery, developing and producing forecast reports in line with learning demand.
The post-holder will oversee the management of the learning participants; supporting the team to identify and meet individual learner needs and/or accessibility requirements; and to identify and book accessible venues, including equipment.
They will also oversee effective and efficient pre-engagement with learners and facilitators, ensuring both parties have everything they need prior to learning delivery and are sufficiently prepared/informed to deliver/undertake a positive learning experience.
This role is non-operational and has formal line-management responsibility for the Scheduling and Coordination team and Learner Coaches/Facilitators(max 15 FTE).
This role is HQ based and will require regular travel to other HMPPS sites/regions, however, there is flexibility in terms of home location.

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties:
The post holder will have the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
· Analyse delivery implications of training proposals, identifying wider issues and solutions
· Forecast learning scheduling and facilitator demand
· Direct and monitor use of facilitator resources to deliver optimum value
· Exercise discretion on delivery variations where precedents might be set
· Manage and advise team in decisions regarding course viability
· Lead on complex cases of individual learner needs/ accessibility requirements
· Identify SME requirements and lead on resourcing
· Deliver national plan for the schedule and coordination of internal PQiP & PSO Pathways
· Represent Head of Learning Delivery at national strategic planning meetings
· Identify, issue, monitor & report on mandatory learning
· Analyse learner uptake, flagging cancellation risks and implementing improvements to achieve targets
· Lead on delivery of pre-engagement with learners and resolution of complex complaints

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.
Some of MoJ’s terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid. HMPPS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs.
