At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. Currently we are looking to add an Experienced Machine Operator on 2nd Shift. We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right."
Experienced Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate mixers and add minor ingredients to batch raw materials to prepare for pressing
- Operate presses to form mixed materials into refractory shapes, adjusting to achieve proper shape, dimension and density
- Perform press die changes and load press programs
- Maintain raw material and product identification to insure traceability
- Document production manually and through computer entry
- Maintain work area and equipment in a neat and orderly condition
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor
Experienced Machine Operator Minimum Requirements
- 2 plus years' experience operating machinery and equipment
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment
Experienced Machine Operator Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics in manufacturing
- Familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operations and rigging
- Competence in interpreting mechanical drawings
