About the role
As the Kennards Hire representative to our customers, we support you with the training and development you need to be successful in your role. The MR Tilt Tray Driver is the critical link between a Kennards Hire branch, our customers and their projects, big or small. You’ll be in charge of everything that makes our customers’ job easy; expert advice, pickups, deliveries and making sure our equipment is ready for hire.
This role requires you to;
- Safely deliver and collect hire equipment from customer sites, including loading, unloading and securing loads for transport.
- Operate a tilt tray truck and tow long trailers when required.
- Transport and handle a broad range of equipment including generators, earthmoving equipment, rollers, excavators, skid steers, forklifts and telehandlers.
- Demonstrate experience with oversized loads, including transport of portable buildings (6m x 3m) using winch-on/winch-off systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with customers on site.
- Complete equipment check-in and check-out inspections, ensuring equipment is safe, compliant and ready for hire.
- Assist with RFH servicing and other operational tasks during quieter periods.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and support vehicle servicing and maintenance requirements.
- Operate a range of vehicles as required, including MR crane trucks, utes and other fleet vehicles.
- Follow all safety, NHVR and load restraint requirements to ensure safe and compliant transport operations.
About you
- Experience operating tilt tray trucks and transporting heavy equipment.
- Experience transporting oversized loads, including 6m x 3m portable buildings using winch-on/winch-off systems, is highly regarded.
- A current MR Driver's Licence is essential, with a Forklift Licence desirable.
- Flexibility to work outside standard operating hours when required.
- A high level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift equipment and remain on your feet for extended periods. The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to think proactively and safely secure challenging or unconventional loads.
- A willingness to learn new skills and support a variety of branch operations.
- An interest in machinery, equipment and the hire industry. Full training will be provided.
- A positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and safety.
