About the Role
Our client is a U.S.-based CPA firm seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Preparer / Project Manager based in the Philippines. This role is ideal for someone who has prior experience working in a U.S. tax firm and has a strong understanding of both tax preparation and accounting fundamentals.
You will own the pre-tax preparation process, including reviewing incoming tax documents, organizing client files, preparing tax workpapers, entering data into CCH Axcess Tax, coordinating with PH-based bookkeepers, managing fixed assets, and ensuring all supporting schedules are complete, accurate, and ready for U.S. CPA review.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of U.S. tax preparation experience
- CPA license highly prioritized (not required)
Hands-on experience with the following tools:
- CCH Axcess Tax
- CCH Fixed Assets
- SmartVault
- Karbon or other practice management systems
- QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
Strong understanding of:
- Financial statements and reconciliations
- Tax workpaper structure and documentation standards
- Fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- 1099 reporting and tangible asset filings
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional work environment
- Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and accountability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with U.S. CPAs or tax managers
- Familiarity with U.S. payroll and benefits platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP)
- Experience in Excel-based financial modeling for tax planning or cash flow analysis
