    Job description

    About KIMARU Talent:

KIMARU Talent is a boutique executive search firm working with startups and growth-stage companies in AI, gaming, technology, and advertising. We take on fewer clients so we can go deeper on each search — real understanding of the role, the team, and what "yes" looks like for both sides.

We're not generalists who'll take any search. We focus on leadership and critical individual-contributor hires — the roles where getting it right changes the trajectory of the startup.

That depth is why most long-term clients give us access to their ATS, Slack, and internal comms. We're not a vendor you check in with weekly. We operate like an internal recruiter with an external network.

    About the Role

A leading company in interactive entertainment is looking for a Software Engineer to help build large-scale multiplayer mobile games using Unity 3D for both iOS and Android. This role focuses on solving complex technical challenges while delivering seamless and immersive gaming experiences to a global audience.

    What You’ll Do

    • Design and implement gameplay features that are both engaging and intuitive.

    • Develop technical solutions to support high-performance game mechanics.

    • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product teams to refine the overall user experience.

    • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and write unit tests to maintain code quality.

    • Contribute to cross-functional teamwork, ensuring alignment across different disciplines.

    • Work on-site three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

    What You Bring

    • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

    • At least two years of experience in game development within a team setting.

    • Strong 3D game engine expertise, with proficiency in C# or C++.

    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle technical challenges with minimal direction.

    • Excellent communication skills for collaborating across different teams and disciplines.

    • Advanced Japanese language skills are required.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience optimizing game performance for mobile or console platforms.
