Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to join our MEP team in the Tampa, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Provide commissioning related services for MEP engineering projects during construction phases.
- Perform quality checks and inspections on installed systems.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, and control panels.
- Track project progress, complete checklists, and log deficiencies or punch lists.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project managers during startup.
- Write field reports and verify compliance with project specifications
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical construction
- General Knowledge of in the following disciplines HVAC, Plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems
- Experience in computer operation and the ability to learn engineering calculation programs and computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose of accessing and interpreting design requirements, is a plus.
- Documented commissioning training from a nationally recognized professional body, is a plus..
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Construction Management knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
- Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
- Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
- Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
